Patent Competition - 'Innovative Solutions For Everyday Life'

This is an open competition on innovation in our daily lives. The objectives of this competition are to encourage and reward excellence in innovative solutions to frequently recurring problems, especially solutions that utilize technologies appropriate to local conditions. The utilization of patent information for devising solutions will be a key element of the competition.
 
Participants are required to:
  • identify technical problems encountered in their surroundings and devise solutions for a selected problem
  • refer to and apply patent information in providing technical solutions.
 
University students
Researchers (individual and groups)
Innovators and inventors (individual and groups)
Must be of Malaysian nationals / permanent residents Must be of Malaysian nationals / permanent residents Must be of Malaysian nationals / permanent residents
Prizes:
All shortlisted participants will receive:

 A certificate of excellence  Financing for Malaysian patent applications (filing and examination fee), if recommended  

The winner for each category will receive:

 A WIPO medal  Financing to attend an IP training course or a study visit to the Republic of Korea  The option to attend for free a WIPO online seminar  

Registration is now closed. Only registered participants are allowed to proceed in this competition.
 
Written submissions regarding the invention / innovation should be made in English using the standard template provided, and be submitted before 7 April 2011 to the following address:
