Chief Operating Officer, Leadership Development Forum
With a background in education in the army, and training in the finance industry of over 20 years, it was Iskandar’s experience in Royal Military College and the army that made him passionate about Leadership and Leadership Development. He believes, leaders are mostly made, not just born.
A MINDEF scholar from RMC, with English and Education qualifications, hhe taught for 10 years in the Army before joining Bursa Malaysia as a Training Officer and left as the Head of Training. Initially, his task there was mostly operational, but he soon learned, the Training Department needs to be more customer-service in providing solutions of better content and learning approach methodology. He decided to be the in-house consultant in Training & Development, providing solutions instead of programs.
That gave him the boost he needed and soon he was given the trust to head various departments, Human Resource, Training and Outreach, Corporate Planning & Strategy, Corporate Communications and Event Management. The diversity of roles gave him the insight of an organization as a whole and enabled him to develop programs for various GLCs and Pubic Listed Companies.
