In 2002, The iA Group, known then as Innovation Associates, was incorporated as a local management and IT consulting firm in Malaysia. Our two founders, Halim Hj Din and Datuk Dr Hamzah Kassim were formerly vice president of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Together, they set out to establish a firm based on the principles of the integrity, professionalism and trust to deliver end-to-end innovative solutions. The company grew rapidly beyond their expectations.

Meet The Founders
A chartered accountant by profession, Halim Hj Din worked in multinational corporations and international consulting firms for thirty years. For eighteen of those years, he worked in the oil and gas industry where he spent six years in Caltex/Chevron as a board member, responsible for financial management. He left to join the consulting industry.
At Ernst & Young, he became the managing partner of the Consulting Division. When Cap Gemini merged with Ernst & Young Consulting, he rose to become the Vice President of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Consulting. In 2003, together with two partners, Halim took over the business where it was renamed Innovation Associates. In 2007, Innovation Associated became the iA Group.

Founder & Group Managing Director
Having served in senior positions in both the public and private sectors, Dato' Dr Hamzah has gained strategic insights and extensive experience in various industries. He worked for the government for over eighteen years in various key posts before being appointed Managing Director of PA Consulting Group. Subsequently, he was elected member of the global management group.

Later, as a partner at Ernst & Young, Dato' Dr Hamzah specialised in business and IT transformation, leading several large assignments in Malaysia and the region. With the global merger of Ernst & Young with Cap Gemini, he was appointed Vice President of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Consulting. Currently, he also serves on several advisory committees in areas of public and business policy.
